We are not talking about firearms; we are talking about your sharing buttons a.k.a. fire buttons. If you want your audience to push your fire buttons on your blog, and unload your content out into the social graph you need to be selective with your sharing tools. If you work B2B; LinkedIn is an obvious choice. If you give your audience to many options it could be confusing. Confused readers will hesitate to pull the trigger and then you will lose fire rate (sharing rate).
My favorite sharing tools
AddThis: This is my first choice because they have a fast responding support and they provides us with insightful metrics. They always update the plugin fast. That is important because this is a fast game when Google, Facebook and Twitter change things all the time. Now you can also very smooth change the Twitter Template and get rid off the username @addthis.
ShareThis: Sorry, I know I said ShareIt in the video but this is an authentic v-log and we never retakes. I think it is very evenly between AddThis and ShareThis. ShareThis have improved and upgraded their design and I like it. When I wrote this and visited ShareThis I became eager to try them again. I also like the metric dashboard.
Wibiya: My Wibiya toolbar stopped working this week. When I asked the support they told me I needed to downgrade my jQuery version (v1.4.4) which can cause conflicts with the Wibiya bar. Wibiya is compatible with jQuery 1.3.2 and 1.4.2. I don’t want to mess with my jQuery script because then something else could stop working. So I actually turned it off today. I think the Wibiya support have lost the frame of context because I’m still waiting for a reply on my tweet and my posted question in the Wibiya forum.
