How To Fix Your Google+ URL By Redirecting From Your Own Domain With WordPress

If you are not hosting your own WordPress blog and still want to find a way to pimp your Google+ URL you could use Gplus.to. In this video I’m showing how you can redirecting from your own domain using WordPress and get a bit more customized URL for you business cards etc. I’m running my blog on the Genesis Framework (affiliate link) and I’m also using the plugin SEO for WordPress by Yoast, a very powerful SEO plugin that works great with Genesis, and this plugin turns of the Genesis redirection option so I need to use the SEO for WordPress redirecting settings instead.

Steps To Follow

  1. Create a new page in WordPress admin page section and name it for example gplus in my case my new URL is: mattiasgronborg.com/gplus
  2. Use your redirection option, I’m using SEO for WordPress.
  3. I don’t want the search engines to find my page so I’m using Noindex and Nofollow in this case.
  4. Paste your Google+ profile URL and publish your page.
