Svea was expecting to hear about some useful routines that would help you become a successful entrepreneur when she asked Mattias about his personal routines and habits. Mattias on the other hand decided to share a very personal story about how his routines actually made his life very difficult at one point.
A personal rehab journey
Some years ago, Mattias had a lot of routines he would follow. Most of them revolved around a supposedly healthy lifestyle he was trying to live. He was really focused on things like working out a lot and eating clean. He explains that these habits became an addiction for him, resulting in the same consequences as any other addiction. He became very isolated and all his thoughts predominantly circled around his addiction. His healthy addiction went so far that he had to attend rehab for orthorexia people (obsessed with healthy eating and training).
Good and bad habits
Mattias luckily managed to get out of this spiral and explains his motive behind sharing this experience with us. He wants to make clear that there are good and bad habits and you should keep an eye on your routines. Some of the things he thought were really good for him 10 years ago turned out to be the complete opposite and rather destructive.
It’s your journey
He also adds that of course, he has routines now and that they have been the backbone of building his business, however, there is no magical recipe that works for everyone. Some things that work very well for some might not work at all for others. It is important to look at where you are in your individual journey and figure out what routines work best for you.
Trust your intuition
He also talks about how he has become a bit more relaxed regarding his routines over the years. He trusts his intuition a lot more these days and realized that when he is too focused on his routines his intuition would miss very important things.
